Hi, I'm Sarah and I am so excited to bring you this opportunity to read all about my new business venture: Vermont Sweater Bums!

We take used wool clothing, mostly sweaters, wash and dry them, then we turn them into longies and shorties for your sweet little ones to wear for winter warmth and/or for cloth diapering mommas you can lanolize them for waterproof covers!

A little info about us: We love babies! See our sister Doula blog! We love cloth diapering and we love all natural clothing materials for the babies in our lives. We love vintage linens and we love reusing and refashioning.

We will be making other clothing articles as time goes on including pillowcase dresses from vintage pillowcases, mittens and scarfs from the sweaters, and, well -- you will just have to stay tuned to see where our imagine takes us!

Our mission is to reduce and reuse being earth gentle while we sew responsibility avoiding synthetic fabrics and notions as much as humanly possible. See our sister blog about sewing green in the green moutains for more information on that subject. For example, if we use elastic in one of our products, it is pure rubber covered with organic cotton. Plus, Sewing Green in the Green Mountains blog will be sharing tutorials and free patterns so stay tuned!
